The Eastern Shore is a vacation destination for so many in the surrounding areas of Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York City. So when I asked Jenny to help me shoot an engagement session for a couple visiting Easton for a few days, there was no suspicion. We got together a few minutes early and walked to the Historical Society Gardens where we were to meet these clients with talk of heading to the Tidewater Inn to wrap up the shoot. I was talking loudly enough for Cody to hear from his hidden spot behind the bushes. I wish I’d been able to get a picture of that!
I usually ask my second shooters to stand in the spot where we’ll start so we can test the light and get the camera settings ready. So Jenny obliged, and was being silly as you see in the photo below. Cody and I had assumed that she would know immediately what was happening when she saw him appear, but I honestly think she was confused about his presence. She seemed to be in a state of shock saying, “Is this really happening?!”
I’m thankful Cody appreciates a photographer’s need to document life with a lens and messaged me last week. So honored that I was able to witness and capture every second of this joyous event. Love you to pieces Jenny! So thankful for your friendship, personally and professionally. I’m so happy that you have found such a wonderful person to spend your life with. You and Cody deserve the greatest happiness! xo
